Hedgehog: Squeak, Pip, Hugh & Tot

Our first hoglets of the year have arrived! These four were - thankfully - rescued from the jaws of a dog in Ascot. The dog found them whilst

out and about and picked them all up. The owner did have a look to see if she could spot a possible nest but to no avail. They are now being fed round the clock. They are fed on warmed up goats milk every hour throughout the day and night to make sure they get enough food to start putting on weight.

They make high pitched pipping noises every so often - usually if we are slightly late for a feed - to remind us they are still here and make sure they are not forgotten!

They are becoming really active and have started wiggling around their enclosure so we have to keep popping them back in the nest to make sure they keep warm.

OUTCOME:

These little ones stayed with all the way through the winter until the spring time. They were released into a suitable garden where hedgehogs already existed so we knew they would thrive there.

The lovely people that live there are feeding them and also monitoring them over the next few weeks to make sure they are happy and healthy.
