My work as a palaeontologist focusses on the wildlife that lived in Britain before and during the last Ice Age. As a result, I am rather more used to spending my time around fossilised,
and often extinct, mammals. It is therefore fantastic to be able to gain some hands-on experience of our modern native wildlife by volunteering at Harper Asprey, and it definitely makes a nice change to be able to care for animals that are still around, and to help safeguard their future in some way. I have been volunteering since September 2015.
I excel at - all things carnivore
I don’t excel at - handling the pigeons!
