Finch: Oscar, Ren & Ringo
These three Finches came into us when a tree was being felled and unfortunately the nest was there. Thankfully, the caring team
managed to round up these three and bring them into us. We haven't seen many finches this year and so we were delighted to have three lively chicks. They started eating well and have got each other for comfort; baby birds do a lot better when they are with others.
However, the mode of transport used to get these little guys to us was fantastic! Who knew an onion ring packet would come in so handy on a rescue mission. The guys managed to squeeze their nest into the packet, along with the 3 babies.
All three have now been successfully released back into the wild. We released them on site so we could do a soft release to make it easier on them.
We managed to sneakily get a photo of one of the babies! We had been keeping our eyes peeled for them, since we could hear their distinctive calls so knew they were nearby.
