Buzzard: Rumpole

Rumpole arrived here from Castle Vets in Chobham with a broken wing. He was found by the side of the road. The break is quite clean and

with treatment and rest it should mend well. He is rather large - and rather grumpy but he has his reasons, he's in a strange place and his wing is very sore. Rumpole is unable to fly or hunt. He eats mainly carrion in the wild. and can hunt by the road. He seems to of been clipped by a car. If all goes well, we will be able to fix the break, and he will be returned to the wild where he belongs.

Here he is in pre-release. His break is mended so now he needs to build up strength.

OUTCOME:

After a few weeks in our outside run, we finally opened the doors for Rumpole to be completely free. Although, we weren't quite expecting for him to refuse to leave for another week! We started leaving his food outside the run to entice him out and slowly he got the hang of it and is now back in the wild where he belongs.
