Sparrowhawk: Nicki

This beautiful bird was found in a lovely lady's garden, sitting on the floor. She watched her for a little while and she did not fly off and was

easy to catch - which is never a good sign. Thankfully, she managed to get her into us so we could take a look at her.

Nicki has some severe swelling on one of the joints on her right wing. The good news is that it is not broken! There may be a slight fracture, or it could be that she has flown into something and caused a lot of bruising. We have given her some antibiotics and painkillers to help her heal and we have our fingers crossed that she will regain the full use of her wing.

Nicki is also incredibly skinny! At the moment, she is not eating so we are having to step in and feed her to ensure she has enough energy to pull through.

OUTCOME:

Unfortunately, we lost Nicki through the night, her body had just given up.
