Heron: Henry

We had a Heron come into us last week from an amazing vets; we named him Henry. He had definitely not had a good few weeks after

being admitted to a vets being found with a severely broken leg. The fantastic vet team managed to splint the leg before bringing him into us.

After a week of being in our care and eating lots, our own vets took a look at him to see if the break had started the healing process. They anaesthetised him to take a look at the break and it wasn't good news. Unfortunately, they just couldn't align the bones into a position that could then be splinted and left to heal.

OUTCOME:

They tried different approaches and nothing seemed to work. If we had splinted it again without the bones being perfectly aligned, it just would not have healed properly and he would have been in agony.

It is such a shame, but well done to the 2 vet teams that tried to help this little guy!!
