Tawny Owl: Gouda

These bundles of fluff are just the cutest birds ever! You wouldn't expect to find a little owl fledgling while out on your daily stroll. This

unfortunate Tawny was found and brought to us after falling out of his tree a little too early. The guys that found him had a look to see if they could see a possible nest where he might have come from but to no avail. Even if they had found the nest, it would have been incredibly difficult to put him back because the trees were so high!

We are watching his weight closely and he is eating really well. Sometimes, Tawny Owls take a little while to feed when they first come into us. They are just not used to being around humans and having a completely different food.

We have a few sites where we can release Owls into - they have suitable nest boxes to put these guys into and plenty of Owls already in the area. However, this little bundle will be released on site here with our other babies, so we can monitor them in runs beforehand.
