Throughout the year, we go through a lot of different cat and dog food, both wet and dry. If you have a fussy cat or dog and constantly try new food which they don't like - please think of us and send in your unused food; our cute patients are not so fussy! One sachet of cat food will feed a baby hedgehog for a day so every little really does help. No donation is too small.

We also use a lot of other foods in the rescue, especially during "baby season" (Spring/Early Summer). Esbilac and Kaytee Exact are essential when hand-rearing newborn mammals and birds. We rely on these products daily as soon as the baby season begins. Goat food is the perfect feed for fawns who are beginning to wean and become independent ready for release. Food donations mean everything to us and are an essential part of running the rescue; please think of us next time you are on Amazon by looking on our wish list and helping all our wildlife!

Please click on the link below if you wish to use paypal. Paypal also takes other cards.

Raise much needed funds for us at the rescue. One way you can help us is to organise your own fundraising events. This could be at school, work or at home with family and friends. We have enclosed a few things to help with your fundraising on our behalf.

Keep Safe

If you are fundraising, then make sure you empty your collection box frequently and keep the money somewhere safe. Street collections are not encouraged and please only fundraise with people that you know. If your event does involve the public, make sure you check with your insurance company first. Most importantly – HAVE FUN!

Fundraising Ideas

Why not get your friends and family to sponsor you for:

  • Walk
  • Silence
  • Cycle Ride
  • Swim
  • 3-legged Walk
  • Doing Chores, e.g. washing up, tidying your room
  • Sponsored Car Wash
  • Get your friends to donate unwanted books, toys or you could all get together to make cakes and have a table top sale!
  • Why not charge friends to pet sit while they are on holiday or away for the day?
  • If you are very sporty you could enter a Fun Run or even the Marathon! Make sure you get lots of people to sponsor you
  • Hold a Bring and Buy Sale. You could even theme the sale (e.g. Children Books, Disney)
  • If you are artistic why not sell your skills as a face painter?
  • If you are good at making things, why not make and sell your creations?
  • How about holding a raffle?
  • Why not fill up a tube of Smarties with £1 coins (after you’ve eaten all the chocolate of course!)
  • Organise a school or group quiz. To help you along we’ve got some Harper Asprey questions (and answers) to get you started
  • Why not arrange a Treasure Hunt, you’d need to work out the clues. You could even make it seasonal if you wanted (Easter Egg Hunt or find the Santa).

Before fundraising make sure you read our fundraising guide and most importantly HAVE FUN!!! Each year we need to raise money for equipment, medical costs and food. Our food needs are complex as we need to seek the appropriate diet for a multitude of wildlife. We need specialist cages to accommodate them during their stay. Each year we treat more and more wildlife.

  • We give talks and ask for food donations and towels
  • We sell items in our shop
  • We attend shows, shopping centres and fairs to share our experiences and encourage people to understand the wildlife that surrounds them.

This is one of our fundraising stalls used  for Halloween with lots of 'batty' fun.

If you feel able to help us with any type of fundraising or have any ideas please don't hesitate to contact us. One sachet of cat food feeds a baby hedgehog for a day so every little really does help.  We are a small charity run totally by volunteers. We are a very busy rescue and we rely on the generosity of our sponsors and fundraising events. Every little helps. As we take in more and more sick and injured casualties, we need more specialists cages so that we can give each and every creature the type of environment they need to improve their stay. We are in the process of expanding our facility and there are always happy for individuals or companies to sponsor cages, aviaries, release sites and essential equipment.

Using your mobile to donate to Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue is very simple. Just enter our unique code HAWR00 and the amount you wish to donate (£10) as your message. Then send the text to 70070. The additional funds come from HMRC.  With gift aid your £10 donation is worth £12 to Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue. Thank You for making a donation via text to Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue. We will ensure that your money works hard to provide the best care to animals while they are with us.

You can help to secure the future of Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue by remembering us in your will.

Making a will can be difficult and worrying with assets to be allocated, to who and how. Writing your will gives you peace of mind and removes the burden to your family to take on this difficult task at their time of bereavement. A bequest to us need not affect your families financial stability. As a charity, all bequests are free from all liability for inheritance tax and can be used to bring the value of your estate below the tax threshold which can be of tremendous benefit for those left behind.

You can make a straight forward financial legacy or alternatively you can bequest property, shares or any other kind of gift. We fully appreciate the concern you have for those you leave behind, so you may wish to consider a "Reversionary Legacy' where you leave money, your estate or a percentage of it to the rescue but only after the death of your spouse, partner or relative. This means they can enjoy your assets during their lifetime but afterwards, the designated portion reverts to us. We recommend that you consult a solicitor to arrange the wording.

It is advisable to ask a Solicitor to draught your Will. After you have made provision for your loved ones you may want to give to charity. If you are planning to make a bequest to "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" we have some advice that will help ensure your gift makes a real difference to wildlife.

WORDING YOUR BEQUEST

If you have decided to remember "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" in your Will there are two ways of making a bequest. One is to leave an amount of money. We naturally appreciate this but would ask you to include the words "index-linked" that protects your gift from inflation. A generous sum now could have significantly less actual value in twenty years or when the gift is released.

There are three main types of legacy you can leave. The following wording that should be included as part of your will makes your intentions clear.

Residual Gift: This is all or a part of the value of your estate once all other legacies and expenses have been paid. The will should read -

"I give a _______ % share of the residue of my estate to not hereby or by any Codicil hereto otherwise disposed of subject to payment of my funeral and testamentary to "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" Registered Charity Number 1143603 of Marlborough House, Augustus Gardens, Camberley, Surrey GU15 1HL for the general purposes of "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" and I direct that the receipt of the person who professes to be the Hon Treasurer or another proper officer of "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge for the same.”

Pecuniary Gift:  This is a gift of a specific sum of money.

"I give the sum of _______ pounds, index linked and free of duty to "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue," Registered Charity Number: 1143603 of Marlborough House, Augustus Gardens, Camberley, Surrey GU15 1HL for the general purpose of "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" and I direct that the receipt of the person who professes to be the Hon Treasurer or another proper officer of "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge for the same.

Specific Gift:  This is an item of value, such as a home.

"I give (name item) not hereby or by any Codicil hereto otherwise disposed of subject to payment of my funeral and testamentary to "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" Registered Charity Number: 1143603 of Marlborough House, Augustus Gardens Camberley Surrey GU15 1HL for the general purposes of "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" and I direct that the receipt of the person who professes to be the Hon Treasurer or another proper officer of "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge for the same.”

If you have already made a will but wish to make an alteration or leave an additional legacy to "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" you can do this by making a short supplementary will, called a Codicil. It is important that a solicitor helps you with this to ensure compliance with legal formalities.

If you do decide to leave a gift to the "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" or have already included us in your will, we would be very grateful if you could inform us of your intentions in full confidence by writing to our founder and CEO Anne Brummer at our registered address. Please mark your letter Legacy Private and Confidential. If you would like any further information on leaving a gift to "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue" in your will, please contact us by email - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - or by phone on 01276 681668 or write to us at: "Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue," Marlborough House, Augustus Gardens, Camberley, Surrey GU15 1HL.

Thank you for remembering Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue and keeping wildlife safe into the future.

A Tribute to David Heals: Dave was married to Maureen and grew up in Sheerwater before settling in Bisley. He was 63 years young! He worked at the London Portrait Gallery and was funny, friendly and generous. Forever with a smile. We would like to dedicate another intensive care cage to Dave if you would like to support us in this you can donate here.

Old Towels

We use thousands of old towels each year and always need more! Are you are having a clear out in your airing cupboard or a colour change in your bathroom? Maybe you are downsizing, clearing out for a relative or if you just hate your towels. Whatever the reason - please let us have them. Many of our "angels" are injured and hay and straw can get into wounds and irritate them. Your old towels are just perfect for them. Please email us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or telephone 01344 623 106. Thank You!

Hospitalisation Cages and Outdoor Enclosures

We are in need of specialist hospitalisation cages. The cost of these cages range from £386 to £4900 for the units we require. We are currently raising money for these to help our orphans and patients. We have found these cages to be invaluable as they offer the ultimate level in safety and hygiene, which enables us to give our patients the expert care and attention to enable them to recover. These are designed specifically for our needs. If your local Veterinary Practice or research laboratories are refurbishing, please let us know as they may be removing and replacing cages that we can use.

Used Stamps

Please send us your old used stamps so we can change them into cash. These old and used stamps bring vital funds to our rescue, so if you get good news through the post, think of us and save that stamp. You can send or deliver these to us in any amounts. No amount is too small and each stamp is gratefully received. Send toHarper Asprey Wildlife Rescue, PO Box 141, Windlesham GU20 6YW

Old mobile phones

Do you or your friends keep up to date with the latest mobile phone trends? If you do, please send us your old mobile phone so we can change them for cash and then change that into food. Your old mobile could help some of our precious orphans who themselves have just had a close call! Send to Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue, PO Box 141, Windlesham GU20 6YW

Equipment

We need a wide variety of equipment to respond to injured wildlife and it's essential for both the safety of the rescuer and the animal. We rescue everything from sparrows and blue tits to roe and fallow deer and of course everything in between! We never know where the next call is coming from or what we will be dealing with so we need to be prepared for pretty much everything. Many "tradesman" have the "tools of the trade" and wildlife rescue is no different. You can see from the list below that our equipment is specialist and expensive for a small charity run by volunteers.

Can you help our Rescue team? Donate Now via the button on this page or contact us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Crush cage £52.29 - Net £29.00 - Rabies gloves £68.00 - Specialist remote trap £459.00 - Standard trap £120.00 - Net loop £94.00 - Avian net £37.98 - Stick holster £83.78 - Ultra bite gloves £60.00 - Heavy duty gauntlets £170.00

Medical Equipment

We are always in need of medical equipment to treat our wildlife. We would be grateful for any "pre-loved" items from veterinary surgeries and animal hospitals. We are happy to get expensive machines repaired so if you know of any vets being refurbished, ask them if we can have any of their old equipment. This equipment is very expensive but really does improve the level of care we can provide to the animals.

We take on students who are undertaking work experience as part of their course throughout the entire year. We can take students studying in University, College and Sixth Form. There is always something to do in the rescue so having help from volunteers and students is fantastic. Students will carry out our daily routines which involve feeding, cleaning and general maintenance of the rescue. Students will have to come in 5 days a week (one of which must be a Saturday or Sunday) from 8 am - 2 pm. Please do get in touch if you have an interest in wildlife and want to learn more about the wildlife around you and get some valuable experience with them.
