Badger: Pumpkin

A badger cub came through our doors. He was rescued by the wonderful Pete at the RSPCA after he was found laying on the

pavement by himself. Initially, we thought it must have been a road traffic accident.

As soon as he came in, we knew something wasn't right and got our vets to examine him straight away. This little one - who we named Pumpkin - was a bag of bones and her gums were incredibly pale. The vets couldn't find anything that would signify a road traffic accident but thought it best to administer antibiotics incase of infection.

Because she was so cold, we immediately started heating her up using heat pads and body heat. She was very vocal about how much distress she was in!

She spent a long time on a drip and had rehydration solutions too.

Unfortunately, Pumpkin lost her battle late that night. We just could not pull her through; she had been through too much.

RIP Pumpkin xx
