Kestrel: Lilly

We have had yet another Kestrel come in that has had her wings clipped. She is clearly a wild one that someone has picked up and

clipped the wings to prevent her from flying away. She was found by a lovely lady by the side of the road just sitting on the floor. Lilly is incredibly skinny but is now eating well in our care.

It is such a shame that this is a common occurrence; these birds are NOT pets and belong in the WILD! Thankfully she is young and feisty and will be able to be released once she is ready.

Lilly is doing really well here despite her lack of flight feathers. Hopefully she will soon be ready for a specialised outdoor run for the rest of her time with us.

Lilly is now in an outside run, flying like a maniac! She is just loving her new space and she is using it as much as she can. Her flight feathers are coming through nicely and soon she will be ready for her release.

Lilly has now been released! She flew straight up into the trees, then off and away to begin her new life.
